House of St Barnabas membership offer

The House of St Barnabas has been part of the Soho community since 1846 and in the building at 1 Greek Street since 1862. Our charity’s evolution has taken us from a refuge for people in necessitous circumstances in Victorian times to our beautiful not-for-profit private members’ club, which you enjoyed last night.

Our mission is still to support those affected by homelessness by providing life skills, hospitality and employability training and employment pathways. We offer a 12-week Employment Preparation Programme with in-house training and work experience in our club. At the end of the 12 weeks our graduates will leave with City & Guilds accredited certificates in Employability and Hospitality. We partner them with a mentor for 12 months and offer continued support from our Employment Support Officer. Our mentors are recruited from our members. From week 8 of the Programme we help our participants to look for employment with the support of our Employment Pathway providers, the largest of which is our partner Benugo. Benugo are an integral part of our training programme both here in the club and at their training centre in Clerkenwell. With access to over 1,000 entry level jobs in London Benugo are an ideal partner for the programme.

The club at The House of St Barnabas helps to change lives. It’s a unique community of social pioneers, drawn together inside a beautiful Grade 1 listed house in the heart of Soho.

Working in partnership with Benugo, we have created a truly inspiring environment that is home to a growing membership that is dedicated to social change.
