After a very successful first year in 2017, The WIJ Mentoring Programme has now expanded to incorporate two concurrent schemes.
The first is for women already established in journalism, who are looking for more senior positions. Mentors for this scheme will be carefully selected from our committee.
The second scheme is for women who are in the earlier stages of journalism, looking for guidance. Mentors for this scheme will be made up of last year’s mentees, who – thanks to their own mentors – have now progressed in their careers.
Twenty mentees – ten from each scheme – will be selected to take part in a year-long programme, kicking off with a lunch to meet their mentors, and including at least four face-to-face meetings across the 12 months.
