Our Bodies, Their Battlefield; What War Does To Women
Join us online Tuesday 2 June, 5.30-6.45pm
In the first of our new summer author events, Sunday Times chief correspondent Christina Lamb talks to WIJ chair Eleanor Mills about her latest book, the first major account to address the scale of sexual assault in modern conflict. Christina has won many major wards for her books and work as a foreign correspondent reporting from within numerous conflict zones, including the war in Afghanistan and more recently, child refugees disappearing in Europe and the Yazidi women abducted by ISIS in Iraq and kept as sex-slaves.
“A wake up call…these women’s stories will make you weep and rage.” Amal Clooney
“Quite literally the most powerful and disturbing book I have ever read.” Antony Beevor
You will be sent the link on Tuesday afternoon, and participants are held in a waiting room until our facilitator opens the event. Please be patient!
