Verifying the content we find online is not only a job for the digital or online desk: agents of disinformation specifically target journalists to spread rumours and lies. Working together we can improve the quality of information available online in the run up to the General Election on December 12th. Join us for a two hour workshop to take your social newsgathering and verification to the next level. From Advanced Google searches to how to verify images and video, this session led by First Draft will leave you with a set of tools and skills that you can use in your everyday
newsgathering.

John Crowley, Editorial Director First Draft, Journalists’ Charity Trustee
Laura Garcia – WIJ Georgina Henry winner for PRESS PAD 2019
