Leading comedy community, Funny Women, is curating a very special live in-person event as part of The Glitter Project featuring an industry panel with experts covering comedy production, management, legal and media.
The event will explore how we can all work together to promote live comedy as part of the vital arts community and support artists to make the most of media opportunities as they head into the busy festival and awards season when column inches really count.
The panel will be hosted by Funny Women founder, Lynne Parker.
The confirmed panelists include:
Alice Rudge, Senior Associate at Russells
Zoe Paskett, founder and editor of LMAOnaise Comedy
Emma Lawson, commissioning editor BBC Comedy
Gina Lyons of Gobby Girl Productions.
Other guests to be announced.
The Funny Women Mentoring Meetups and Open Mic events are a part of The Glitter Project – A Safe Place supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Join us for some informal networking, fun and games, plus first-hand advice from visiting experts who’ve all ‘been there, done that’ in some capacity.
We all know how challenging it can be to embark on a new interest and potential career so these events are designed to take out the overwhelm and connect you with other likeminded female and non-binary comedy performers, writers and creators.
This takes place in partnership with the Museum of Comedy, one of London’s leading comedy venues, under the direction of regional producer Rachel Barber.
Location: Museum of Comedy, The Undercroft, St George’s Church, Bloomsbury Way, London, WC1A 2SR, United Kingdom
There is free entry to this event with an optional donation towards running future Glitter Project events and initiatives.
