The New Frontline: Women, Media, and Digital Trust

How do you cope with the threat of harassment and abuse when you are just trying to do your job? It has increasingly become part of a journalist’s life -whether you are physically intimidated reporting on controversial stories like last summer’s riots or you become the target of misogynistic trolling online.

What is the best way to react and safeguard yourself as you tell the stories that matter in a time of volatile and divisive politics combined with AI and technological advances?

To mark International Women's Day, Women in Journalism, in collaboration with Channel 4 News, is hosting a thought-provoking panel providing practical tips and advice around managing online, physical and psychological threats.

Experts from broadcast, publishing and social media - will talk about their experiences and advice for women working as journalists in 2025.

Chaired by Sunita Bhatti (Head of Regions, Channel 4 News & WiJ Deputy chair) alongside Natalie Fahy (Audience and Content Director: London and East of England, Reach, Sophia Smith Galer, our Georgina Henry prize winner 2024 (won with her project Sophina) and Darshna Soni, (Communities editor, Channel 4 News)
