Big wins at the Asian Media Awards

The Asian Media Awards partnered with Women in Journalism at their 12th ceremony which was held in Manchester on Friday 25 October. There were many deserved winners on the night.

The Diversity in the Media Award went to Shani Dhanda presented by Dr Amir Khan and our very own advisory board committee member, Um-E-Aymen Babar! Aymen is also the only female nominated for the press gazette awards sports journalist and we couldn’t be prouder.

Other winners include Anushka Asthana - Deputy Political Editor, ITN ITV News, Best Newcomer Talia Palamathanan and Outstanding Contribution to Media - Ayshea Brough. Congratulations to everyone.

“The organisation continues to showcase the achievements of female journalists at all levels. It is wonderful to be able to celebrate creative and original ideas and campaigns as part of our own 12th ceremony.”
