Speed mentoring masterclass

There was a fantastic turnout for our Speed mentoring masterclass event on June 3rd.

Hosted at the beautiful future dreams house, those lucky enough to grab a ticket turned up for drinks, treats and valuable advice from some of the best in the industry.

Future Dreams House was founded in 2008 by mother and daughter, Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie who were both diagnosed with breast cancer. Tragically both women lost their lives to secondary breast cancer within a year of each other in 2009. Their mission was simple: Nobody should ever have to face breast cancer on their own. We were very honoured to be able to host in such a building and the mentees were treated to a tour upon arrival.

The main event was based around the speed dating concept, offering mentees the chance to gather in small, intimate groups with one mentor. Every 12 minutes a mentor would rotate to a new group giving our members the chance to talk to everyone. There was time at the end for mentees to network amongst themselves.

We were lucky enough to be treated by the very talented chefs from Tesco who provided a delicious array of treats and canapés which kept us going through the evening. Among the favourites were the beef short rib bao buns (pictured below) and the extremely addictive black garlic and chorizo croquettes (also pictured below). Towards the end of the day, we were treated to after-event drinks and sweet treats in the form of macaroons and mini churros slathered in luxuriously melted milk chocolate.

Tesco are delighted to be supporting the WiJ network and mentoring scheme and were honoured to have held the event at the wonderful Future Dreams House, which provides such crucial support from those touched with breast cancer.
