Joss is a driven and distinctive cross-platform storyteller with particular expertise in digital and social media spaces. The work of the ITV News social team, which they lead, has been recognised across the industry with an RTS nomination and Drum Media award for Editorial Innovation. Joss is a champion of underrepresented voices in the news agenda and in newsrooms. Their commitment to fair and respectful journalism, particularly around LGBT+ lives, gained them a win in MHP's 30 to watch awards. As ITN's Pride network co-chair, they've been a real voice for change within the company and hosted several panel talks around reporting on the issues impacting LGBT+ people.
Jess Brammar is the Editorial Executive for BBC Content. Her career in news spans two decades, beginning as a researcher on BBC Question Time. She joined ITN as a field producer, then news editor, before returning to the BBC as a senior producer on Newsnight. After becoming deputy editor of Newsnight, and a stint as acting editor, she left the BBC again to join the digital news website HuffPost UK as Head of News, and then Editor-in-Chief. During her time at HuffPost, the site built a reputation for agenda-setting journalism and community reporting, and co-founded the HuffPost Centre for Journalism at Birmingham City University. After HuffPost UK was taken over by BuzzFeed and the news section closed in 2021, she rejoined the BBC as controller of the domestic BBC News Channel and international BBC World News. She began her current role in October 2023 after returning from her second maternity leave.
