South Asian Heritage event lookback

It was a fantastic evening of stories, reminiscence and laughter at the South Asian Heritage month event which was held live at ITN.

We heard first hand accounts from Yasmin Alibhai-Brown who chaired the event, and the remaining panel consisting of Ash Sarkar, Poorna Bell and Anita Bhagwandas.

Our panel opened up about how they got into journalism as not only women but as women of South Asian background.

They gave the floor to our audience who were inspired to share their own stories of their struggles and successes and it’s safe to say, the main event ended with the audience feeling empowered to keep going in the world of journalism and the media.

The panel then stayed for post event drinks and networking where our audience got to speak to them one to one.
